Dear New Jerusalem Community,

I wanted to take a moment to thank you all for the support you showed for our WFWP Assembly last weekend. It turned out to be one of the most uplifting events I have ever attended. The reports shared from various women working on a variety a projects around the country were awe inspiring.

I am not sure everyone is aware, but WFWP is addressing each of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals they are:

· Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger

· Achieve universal primary education

· Promote gender equality and empower women

· Reduce child mortality

· Improve maternal health

· Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other diseases

· Ensure environmental sustainability

· Develop a global partnership for development

Since WFWP addresses each goal they were granted the highest status of any NGO's in the UN. I am proud to be a part of such an organization.

In addition to that we in the USA are addressing what Condoleezza Rice calls the greatest sickness of our country, racism. Our Inter Racial Sisterhood Project has been very successful in California and we are planning to begin here in New Jersey with the support of many influential (non UC) ladies that attended our weekend Assembly.

I am thrilled with the interest and enthusiasm this Assembly has generated and I thank all that attended and made it possible. I will meet after the Women's prayer this Wednesday evening at 8:45 in the chapel with anyone interested in brainstorming future possibilities for our work here in New Jersey.

Be well and be peaceful,

Jeanne Carroll
