Optional Luncheon Program at the United Nations   

This luncheon program will be held in the Delegates Dining Room, at the United Nations headquarters in New York, on Friday, April 25, 2008, 12 noon to 2 pm, with the theme, “NGO Perspective on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs): Women’s Innovations in Sustainable Development.Guests who plan to participate in this luncheon should arrive on Thursday evening or early Friday morning. Those who arrive on Friday morning may check a small suitcase at the Visitor’s entrance at the UN, at 45th Street and First Avenue. For those who are attending the Assembly, transportation will be provided back to the hotel following the luncheon program.  

 

The Hanover Marriott Hotel

Located just 32 miles from New York City, the Hanover Marriott is a beautiful hotel in Whippany, New Jersey. The hotel is situated in a suburban area surrounded by beautiful and serene countryside. Accommodation Reservations

For this assembly, please make your reservation directly with the Hanover Marriott Hotel. You may call  973-538-8811, or toll free, 1-800-228-9290. Each room can accommodate up to four persons. The group rate for each room is $137 per night, which includes the applicable tax.

 

When making your reservation, please identify yourself as affiliated with Women’s Federation for World Peace, so that you receive the group rate. For those staying in the hotel, the deadline for registration for the assembly, as well as for making your reservation with the hotel, is Friday, April 11.

 

Cancellation policy: If you cancel your hotel reservation, you will still be charged, on your credit card, for the full amount of the reservation. This is standard policy for group bookings.

 

Shuttle from Newark Int’l Airport 

The hotel is located approx 20 miles from Newark Liberty International Airport. The Assembly staff is making arrangements for transportation between Newark Airport and the Hanover Marriott at a reduced rate of $30 per vehicle, one way. Vehicles will depart the airport hourly, accommodating up to four passengers each.

 

Transportation to and from NYC by Train

NJ Transit trains are available from NYC’s Penn Station to Morris Plains, a town 3 miles away from the hotel. The trains run every 30 min. The trip takes about an hour and ten minutes. The cost of one adult one way ticket is $11.25. We will provide a shuttle to transport guests between the hotel and the Morris Plains train station throughout the weekend.
