Curriculum

YOUTH CLASS

The purpose of this class is to provide children a place where they can enjoy learning Korean by playing games, arts/crafts, music, role playing, etc.

BEGINNER CLASS

The aim of this class is to establish basic Korean language skills along with basic communication skills. This class provides: Korean alphabet, phonics/Korean sentence structure, 1000 vocabularies, everyday conversation (textbook plus tape) divided in 10 chapters (introduction, restaurant, store, riding a cab, shopping, bank).

You can also learn grammar specifically on:

subject/object particles
present tense/past tense/future tense
Korean/Chinese numerals/time/date and money
and informal versus honorific speech.

If you want to not only read, write, and recite family pledge correctly but also understand its meaning, Beginner Class will guide you accordingly.

INTERMEDIATE CLASS

This class is intended for students who have basic Korean language skills. If you can read, write, speak Korean, this class will guide you to improve your Korean beyond your current level.

This class mostly will focus on:

grammar (compounded sentence structure
changing verbs, also high-form/low-form conversation, etc.).
comprehension (story/situation based reading, short-paragraphs translating, question/answer, listening, etc.).
writing (short paragraph composition),
speaking (group speaking, one-on-one speaking).

ADVANCED CLASS

This class is designed for learning how to speak and listen proficiently in high-leveled contents. This class will use the same textbooks as last semester. There are two different parts in the textbook which are listening and question/answer.

We will concentrate on both parts during the class. We may have time to study one hour for listening and another hour for questions and answers. Moreover, sometimes we will have time to learn some Korean songs, poems, and so on. Most of the time I will ask you what you want to study and the class will be reflect your opinions. Let’s enjoy the class together.
