What is a VIP? A VIP is a guest; this term was suggested by Rev. Dong Woo Kim in order to give the guest the proper introduction to the Divine Principle as a precious child of God in the process of discovering his/her true origin and identity. Everybody is a VIP until found otherwise, meaning, every contact is a VIP and is pre-disposed to receive God's Blessing but it can't forced upon! What if my VIP ask questions about True Father and I don't feel prepared to answer them? First, understand the motivation behind the question; is it genuine curiosity or not? Our role within the educational track system is to teach The Truth using the 4 steps approach that will lead the VIP to a higher understanding and the realization of the existence of the living Christ. Please trust that each member and educator of the one-on-one Divine Principle teaching is fully equipped to nurture your VIP. What is my role during the 4 steps process? You are the spiritual parent who raise a child of God, helping and attending the educators any which way feasible. Your role is to love, to care, to serve, and building bonds in a heartistic relationship with your VIP. Many questions your VIP may have will be answered through a deep sense of communion within the realization of the Truth and your attendance to his/her spiritual development. Getting rid of the campaign mentality - what does it mean? We are now in the era of settlement, or the growing and multiplying of family cells through small groups. It is to live in accordance with the True Family's tradition and way of life; gone are the days of wild street witnessing, reaching out to everything that moves. Our focus has switched to the Hoon Dok Home Church (HDHC) activities. It is a community environment where we interact and initiate contacts that turn into long term relationships. These relationships are the result of follow up that turns a stranger into a VIP. VIPs are invited to ice-breaker events. Until very recently, we met VIPs, civic and religious leaders and briefly interacted with them, solely to meet our mandate and obligation in fulfilling providential numbers, giving very little thought about the follow-up. The typical campaign mindset was the street blessing with candies or the 185 couples blessings...Just like the song: "where are all the flowers gone?" Ice-Breaker events? It is a time of fun, enjoyment and an introduction to the 4 talks on Happiness. The setting can be a pot-luck event where small groups gather together with VIPs and share cultural differences and enjoy each other's presence. A very successful Ice-breaker event that has brought much attention to our community at large has been the "Japanese Night." There are other cultural heritages available in our community that can draw similar attention and have not yet been exploited; what about "A Night in Paris" event with a lots of baguettes, cheeses and sparkling grape juice (wine is no recommended). |

How to I find the desire to go witness? Questions are often the answers - You tend to feel limited or having little time to witness, you don't have the talent, the background or experience. You did not have much luck in witnessing in the past. First, your life must become a life full of exclamation not a life of explanation of why you didn't do this or you didn't do that. There is not particular time of the day to go witnessing the Truth; you become the Truth through learning and living God's Word... everyday, a little bit more, you raise your level of consciousness about God's heart in your life and you realize that God needs you to be His mouth. Right now, you just lack motivation and have little or no inspiration. You may be experiencing an identity crisis and you are looking at your relationship with True Parents as external. You have put that relationship on the back burner. You are waiting for something that will revive you back to your original conversion...when you joined. Think about how much you've grown and who's responsible for it. Pick yourself up and re-fuel; one marvelous way to do that is to attend the HDHC School. Dead candles are revived and lighted up as bright as new ones. Plus, there is nothing better that finding God's lost child to brighten your spirit. Witnessing is a way of life not a condition to fulfill; you don't have to do it, but you do it because it is the right thing to do. Have you ever lost a child...really lost it for an hour or two...then you found it again...were you angry at him or did you squeeze and hug him? 6000 years is a long time! Go out there and experience the joy of discovery. God bless you! What attitude should I have while witnessing? Go to page 2 |
